St George's Day Parade
22nd April 2012
60 Beaver, Cubs, Scouts and Leaders from 1st Dartford Scout Group came together at Dartford Central Park with all our Dartford Scout and Guide Groups, District officers and Councillors to celebrate St George's Day and renew are promises.
The recent rain held off and a lively service ensued, with a fun quiz about our Queen, as it is her Diamond Jubilee year.
We looked amazing due to the hard work of one of our Mums, Di Hill, who 'did her best' by taking home and washing, ironing and twirling our neckerchief's. Thanks to everyone else who helped our members look so smart in their full uniform.
We paraded around the park only due to a lack of Police but this did not diminish the spectacle of all Dartford District parading together.
A highlight was the Beaver section winning the Dartford District Standard Competition for their charitable work locally and internationally.
I would like to thank my Leaders for all their hard work. The turn out of the Group very much reflects the time they put in with our sections.
Your very proud, Group Scout Leader, Alan Warren
