Group trip to Port Lymphe

25th March 2012

Beavers, cubs, scouts and leaders enjoyed a trip to Port Lymphe safari park. Luckily although the day was cold it was sunny and lots of the animals came out to see us.

We started our visit seeing the tigers and lions who seemed lazy in the early morning sun.
The beavers and cubs learnt about the animals in the Park in order to complete their animal friend and animal carer badges. Everyone enjoyed a trip on the tractor safari, seeing elephants, rhinos, antelopes, giraffes, zebras and wild horses. The beavers couldn't believe the giraffes were bigger than the trees. After lunch, a spot of meerkat watching and the reptile house it was time to ride back.
We rounded the afternoon off watching the gorillas being fed and our young members had a run around the assault course. A great day was had by all.
